| About Head-to-Head Play in the 2010 Tournament |
 |
| For the third year in a row, the 2010 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Championship
tournament is featuring Head-to-Head play on the Nintendo DS™
via the Internet. Registrants who qualify first take a quiz
that tests their knowledge of Yu-Gi-Oh!, but the quiz is only the
beginning. The top scorers in the quiz move on to duel Head-to-Head
in online competition in regional qualifiers and ultimately, if they qualify, play face-to-face in the live
portion of the 2010 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Championship in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Learn more about the 2010
Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier and 2010 Yu-Gi-Oh!
US Championship and pre-register
for your chance to be US Champion. |

  |
| Head-to-Head Play Summary |
 |
| First, and most important, all participants
must complete the registration process. Once registered, participants
begin by taking and completing the 2010 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier Quiz.
The top 256 scorers in the 2010 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier Quiz qualify
to compete in one of four online head-to-head regional qualifiers. |
  |
| WARNING: Be advised that you may only take the quiz once.
Attempting to or taking the quiz more than once will result in immediate
disqualification. |
 |
 |
 |
| Head-to-head play begins after the quiz round ends. In each Regional Qualifier, participants are
matched up according to their seeding with the Number 1 seed matched
against the Number 256 seed and so on. All play is best two out of three. |
 |
| At the outset of head-to-head play, a play window
-- required match time -- is provided to all participants. All play windows are in Eastern Standard
Time. If a match does not take place during the required play window,
then the higher seed is automatically moved forward to the next
round of the Tournament. To be clear, the lower seed must be available
to play or be disqualified. |
 |
| If any replay is required for a given round, the
play window can be extended by the tournament administrator. |
 |
| For each round of the tournament, the higher seed
is matched with the lower seed. Both seeds are notified of their
play window and provided with match information via email. Upon notification, they follow the link in the
email and login to the head-to-head play module using their registered
email address (as their user name) and Entry Code for the 2010 Yu-Gi-Oh!
US Qualifier Quiz (as their password). Upon logging in, each dualist provides their permission to provide their Nintendo DS™ Friend Code to their opponent. |
 |
| If either participant fails to be present at the appointed
play window, the match is forfeited and the winner is the participant
who was present. All participants will be contacted via e-mail to
confirm they are present and ready to participate at the start of
their agreed to play window. Confirmation is optional, however,
should either party desire to appeal the results of their match,
their appeal may be denied if they failed to confirm their presence
at the outset of their scheduled match. Thus, if a participant wants
to confirm that they were present, they must be certain that they
have access to their email at the start of the play window so that
they can confirm their presence. |
 |
| Head-to-Head play is conducted on Nintendo DS™,
which is capable of connecting to the internet and using the Yu-Gi-Oh!
World Championship 2010. This process repeats itself for each round of head-to-head play
in each qualifier until a winner is determined. |
 |
|
 |
| Winner Validation for Head-To-Head Matches |
  |
| When a scheduled match concludes, an email is sent to both participants.
Each participant, then confirms the results of the match. At
the time of results confirmation either party may appeal the results
of the match. |
 |
|
 |
| Match Arbitration Process |
 |
| All disputes are submitted to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament
Administrators for resolution. Arbitration may result in a replay.
All appeal results are final. |
 |
| Any party submitting an appeal must validate their
match result by capturing their Nintendo DS™ results screen
electronically and submitting an electronic image of that screen
to Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament Administrators for review and confirmation.
Images are submitted to prm@b2cdemand.com.
Failure to provide this image will result in the immediate denial
of any appeal. Additional information may be required including
but not limited to providing the actual Nintendo DS™ to tournament
administrators for inspection. |
