| The 2008 Tournament Introduces Online Head-to-Head Play |
| For the first time, the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier and 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Championship tournaments are introducing Head-to-Head play on the Nintendo DS™ via the Internet. Registrants who qualify will first take a quiz that tests their knowledge of Yu-Gi-Oh!, but the quiz is only the beginning. The top scorers in the quiz move on to duel Head-to-Head in online competition and ultimately play face-to-face in the live portion of the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Championship in San Diego, California. Learn more about the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier and 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Championship and register for your chance to be US Champion. |

| Head-to-Head Play Summary |
| First, and most important, all participants must complete the registration process. Once registered, participants begin by taking and completing the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier Quiz. The top 256 finishers in the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier Quiz qualify to compete in head-to-head competition. |
| WARNING: Be advised that you may only take the quiz once. Attempting to or taking the quiz more than once will result in immediate disqualification. |
| Head-to-Head play begins after the quiz round ends and qualified registered entrants receive their seed placement. Participants are matched up according to their seeding with the Number 1 seed matched against the Number 256 seed in round one and so on. |
| To select a time for Head-to-Head play, the higher seed selects three different Play Windows. A Play Window is a proposed match time. All Play Windows are in Eastern Standard time. |
| Once the higher seed submits the purposed Play Windows, they are then sent to the lower seed. The lower seed must accept one of these three Play Windows or be disqualified. |
| When the lower seed accepts one of the three purposed Play Windows, an e-mail confirming the time for the match and containing the respective Nintendo DS™ Friend Code for each opponent is sent to both opponents. |
| The match is now scheduled and each opponent has the respective Nintendo DS™ Friend Code of their opponent. The match is set. |
| If either participant fails to be present at the appointed Play Window, the match is forfeited and the winner is the participant who was present. All participants will be contacted via e-mail to confirm they are present and ready to participate at the start of their agreed to Play Window. Confirmation is optional, however, should either party desire to appeal the results of their match, their appeal may be denied if they failed to confirm their presence at the outset of their scheduled match. Thus, if a participant wants to confirm that they were present, they must be certain that they have access to their email at the start of the Play Window so that they can confirm their presence. |
| Head-to-Head play is conducted on Nintendo DS™, which is capable of connecting to the internet and using the Yu-Gi-OH! World Championship 2008 game. |
| This process repeats itself for each round of Head-to-Head play. For the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier, there are two rounds of Head-to-Head play. these are Round One and Round Two. Round One pits the top 256 scorers from the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Qualifier Quiz against one another in Head-to-Head play. Round One contains 256 participants. Round Two includes the winning participants from Round One or 128 participants. The 64 winners from Round Two move onto the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! US Championship to compete in six rounds of Head-to-Head play. |

| Winner Validation for Head-To-Head Matches |
| When a scheduled match concludes, an e-mail is sent to both participants. The results of the match are confirmed by both participants. At the time of results confirmation either party may appeal the results of the match. |
| Match Arbitration Process |
| All disputes are submitted to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament Administrators for resolution and are resolved within 24 to 48 hours. Arbitration may result in a replay. All appeal results are final. |
| Any party submitting an appeal must validate their match result by capturing their Nintendo DS™ results screen electronically and submitting an electronic image of that screen to Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament Administrators for review and confirmation. Images are submitted to yugioh2008@b2bdemand.com. Failure to provide this image will result in the immediate denial of any appeal. Additional information may be required including but not limited to providing the actual Nintendo DS™ to tournament administrators for inspection. |
